Thousands of Elderly and Mosque Management Officials in South Tangerang Receive Covid-19 Vaccine

BSD City, April 22, 2021 — Sinar Mas Land’s Muslim Foundation (YMSML) worked with Mosque and Little Mosque Forum (FMMB), SehatQ, and the South Tangerang Public Health Office to launch vaccination centers for thousands of senior citizens and mosque officials (takmir) in South Tangerang. This vaccination program was held in two locations; Islamic private school Sekolah Islam Al-Azhar and Mall Teras Kota; both in BSD City on Thursday (4/22).

Seniors were prioritized to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. Next to receive the vax would be the takmirs, who fall into the public service officers category, as they were likely to give more religious services during Islamic fasting month Ramadan and meet with the masses directly.

The vaccination for takmirs hopefully would make them feel safe when catering to the Muslims at mosques or little mosques (musola) in South Tangerang during Ramadan. Despite having gotten their shots, all vax recipients still have to apply the health protocols every day.
