The Smart Building Biomedical Campus in BSD City, launched in January 2024, sets a new benchmark for sustainable and digital innovation. Covering 11,800 m² of land with 31,800 m² of space, it brings together offices, a business centre, an experience hub, a makerspace, and F&B outlets.

In 2024, SML achieved a milestone with The Armont Residence, the first green homes project in Indonesia to earn a “Gold” certification from the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI).

The Sinarmas Land Sustainability Vision is structured around four key sustainability pillars and focus areas, shaped by our materiality assessment and stakeholder engagement process. This vision is translated into action through a set of time-bound targets, metrics, and initiatives aimed at addressing our material ESG topics and forming the foundation of our ESG strategy.

SML integrates care for marginalized or underprivileged groups into its corporate social responsibility (CSR) mission. We aid in fostering a strong and inclusive community for person with disabilities (PWD).

SML oversees two major industrial estates in Bekasi Regency, West Java province: Karawang International Industrial City (KIIC) and Greenland International Industrial Center (GIIC) at Kota Deltamas. These industrial estates serve as vital drivers of economic growth in Indonesia. Through various initiatives, they contribute to the sustainable development of surrounding communities and continually advance environmental sustainability.

The thriving industry surrounding the Greenland International Industrial Center (GIIC) in Deltamas has fueled demand for a productive workforce. As part of the government’s revitalisation plan for vocational high schools (SMK), we partnered with Ananda Mitra Industri (AMI) School Deltamas and our corporate tenants in GIIC to support the workforce needs of our tenants through AMI’s vocational programme.

Sekolah Berhati is an SML programme whose objective is to elevate the quality of education in schools surrounding the BSD City area. The programme aims to increase students’ literacy and environmental knowledge and offer opportunities for students to develop personal character, such as independence, entrepreneurship, and faith or spirituality-based values.

The ITC Group is committed to preserving the environment and has partnered with DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to create a comprehensive waste management programme at ITC Cempaka Mas. The programme focuses on enhancing the existing waste management process by encouraging waste processing and reuse while minimising residual waste.

Bina Usaha MSME is an initiative aimed at empowering MSMEs. As the Greater Jakarta region develops economically, there is further room for development among smaller enterprises.

Karawang International Industrial City (“KIIC”) is an industrial estate located in West Karawang, south of Jakarta. It is a joint venture between Sinar Mas Land and ITOCHU Corporation Japan. As one of the biggest industrial estates in Indonesia, it encompasses operations of more than 160 companies on a total developed area of 1,389 hectares.

Following the successful development of COVID-19 vaccine, several countries implemented large-scale vaccination programs. Sinar Mas Land worked together with local Indonesian authorities to support the national COVID-19 Vaccination Program, focusing on increasing public awareness and vaccine acceptance. Together, we reached out effectively to the communities within the vicinity of our operations

Investment in renewable energy sources presents an opportunity to manage our climaterelated impact and reduce our carbon footprint. In 2019, we installed solar panels in BSD City, starting with QBig BSD City, the Marketing Office, and the Customer Care Office building. Since then, we have expanded the use of solar panels to other buildings such as MyRepublic Plaza, Green Office Park 9 and Sinar Mas Land Plaza — BSD City.

Kampung Mantul is a comprehensive training programme for the local communities surrounding the BSD City development. Targeting rural villages, the program focuses its training on food security and independence, as well as creating new job opportunities for villagers.
